How to Sell a Used Cordless Vacuum Cleaner in Ireland
Document the exact vacuum model, observed battery runtime, charger, cleaning heads and condition so buyers know what they are getting.

A cordless vacuum listing needs more than a familiar brand and a photograph of the handle. Buyers want to know which model it is, whether the charger is included, what happened during a recent battery test and which cleaning heads they will receive. An advert that answers those questions is easier to assess than one promising powerful suction and perfect battery life without explaining either claim.
Prepare the complete package on a clear surface. Locate the model information on the machine, check the labels on the charger and collect the attachments you intend to sell. Similar-looking tools and chargers should not automatically be treated as interchangeable. If a part has been replaced, explain what you know about the replacement rather than implying that every component is the original supplied item.
Name the exact model and sale package
Record the brand and model designation as accurately as possible. Avoid copying the specifications of a newer model with a similar name or a different accessory bundle. The buyer should be able to identify the machine from your description and model photograph. If you cannot establish the exact model, disclose that uncertainty and show the identifying label instead of inventing a generation or package name.
Document everything that comes with it
- Vacuum body, wand and the specific cleaning head or heads included.
- Charger model and any dock or wall-mounting parts that are supplied.
- Crevice, upholstery and other loose tools, shown in one inventory photograph.
- Battery replacement history, if known, and whether supporting documentation exists.
- Missing tools, broken clips, damaged seals or other known faults.
Give runtime context instead of a broad battery promise
If the machine can be used safely, note the circumstances of a recent ordinary-use test. Record the starting charge indication, selected mode, attached head, approximate elapsed time and what you observed. State whether that was a short demonstration or a full run until the machine stopped. Those facts help a buyer understand your evidence without turning one observation into a promise about every future cleaning session.
Do not copy a headline runtime from a manufacturer's new-product page and present it as the measured performance of your used machine. Equally, do not call a battery healthy simply because the charger light illuminated. If you have not completed a meaningful recent check, explain that limitation. A description such as ran for approximately [observed duration] in [stated mode] with [stated attachment] is more transparent than battery perfect.
Do not attempt unsafe battery or electrical repairs
Use the manufacturer's instructions for your exact machine and charging equipment. Dyson's cordless operating guidance, for example, includes specific requirements for batteries and power supplies; it is not permission to mix unknown components. Do not open a battery pack, bypass a protection feature or continue charging an item with concerning damage merely to produce a sale demonstration. Seek appropriate manufacturer or qualified support if the battery, wiring or charger raises a safety concern.
Clean within the manual's instructions and show remaining wear
Empty the collection bin and carry out only the routine cleaning permitted by the model's instructions. Washing and drying requirements vary by part and product, so do not assume every filter, head or electrical component can be treated in the same way. Photograph the current bin, head, bristles or rollers and visible wear. Cleanliness helps a buyer inspect the machine, but should never disguise a broken latch, damaged housing or other fault.
Take photographs that show the actual bundle
Include a full-length photograph, the model label, the supplied charger, each head and an inventory of the smaller tools. Add close-ups of defects rather than photographing only the least-worn side. Leave household clutter and personal documents out of the frame. If a dock is still mounted to a wall, explain whether it is included, whether it will be removed before collection and which fixings are supplied.
Compare condition and accessories when setting the price
Compare similar used machines with the same model and broadly comparable completeness. A machine without a charger or with an uncertain battery is not the same offer as a demonstrated, complete bundle. Asking prices do not prove that other sellers achieved those amounts. If you choose to reduce your price, update the existing advert and explain any change in the included package rather than publishing a duplicate with contradictory details.
A useful cordless vacuum advert template
Example only: [Brand and exact model] cordless vacuum, with [wand, head, charger and named tools]. Recent check on [date]: used in [mode] with [head] for approximately [observed duration]; [explain whether the test was complete or limited]. Battery history: [known facts or unknown]. Condition: [specific wear and faults]. Asking price EUR [amount]. Collection in [town], [county], by arrangement. Only the accessories listed and photographed together are included.
Can I sell it if the battery needs replacing?
Describe a known battery limitation prominently and avoid advertising the machine as fully working. A buyer may be interested in a repair project, but should know what has and has not been diagnosed. Do not guarantee that a replacement battery will fix an unresolved fault or suggest an unverified part. Equipment with a safety concern should not be presented as ready for ordinary use; obtain suitable advice before offering it on that basis.
Agree what the buyer can inspect at collection
Confirm the exact machine, accessories and asking price in the conversation before arranging a meeting. Explain whether a safe demonstration is available and keep all loose tools together so nothing is accidentally omitted. Allow inspection of the actual item, agree payment directly with the buyer and close the listing after the completed handover. Clear expectations are more useful than an advert padded with unsupported superlatives.
