How to Sell a Used Air Fryer in Ireland
Identify the exact air fryer, describe the drawers and coating honestly, document normal-use checks and prepare a specific local appliance advert.

The best used-air-fryer advert is specific about the things a buyer cannot judge from a front photograph. They need to know the exact model, which drawers and trays are included, whether the surfaces have visible wear and what you have actually checked. If an appliance has been sitting in a cupboard since an upgrade, do not describe it as fully tested simply because it worked the last time you remember using it. Start with a present-day inspection and an accurate list of parts.
Confirm the model and describe capacity carefully
Copy the complete model code from the label, not just the brand or a marketing range name. Check the correct manual or product support page before stating the rated capacity or dimensions. On a multi-drawer model, make clear whether a quoted capacity is per drawer or combined. Avoid promising that it feeds a particular number of people: portion sizes and the food being cooked make that subjective. State measurements and manufacturer specifications instead of turning a personal experience into a guarantee.
Measure the appliance's outside dimensions if space on a counter is likely to matter. Be explicit that these are the physical measurements, not a claim about required operating clearance. The buyer should consult the model's instructions for where and how to use it. Photograph all included drawers, baskets, crisper plates and other accessories together. If a cookbook or optional rack appears in the image but is not included, remove it or label the exclusion clearly.
Clean according to the correct instructions
Let the appliance cool, disconnect it and follow its own cleaning guidance. Do not assume that every removable part is dishwasher safe or that a method appropriate for one brand is suitable for another. Philips, for example, publishes model-specific manuals and support information; those references should be matched to the actual model. Avoid abrasive methods, unverified chemical mixtures or dismantling electrical parts to make a used appliance look newer for photographs.
Condition details to record
- Condition of the drawers, handles, latches and included cooking plates.
- Visible coating damage, scratches, stains, odours or residue, without hiding them in photographs.
- Any damaged cable or plug, cracked casing, loose parts or suspected electrical fault.
- Which controls and ordinary cooking functions you checked, and when.
- Known error messages, uneven behaviour, unexplained shutdowns or previous repairs.
- Missing accessories, replacement parts and any maintenance history you can document.
Do not sell an appliance with a suspected safety problem as ready for normal use. If there is damaged wiring, burning, an unexplained power fault or another concerning symptom, stop using it and seek suitable advice. A quick heating demonstration cannot establish electrical safety. If you become aware of a recall affecting the model, follow the manufacturer's instructions rather than passing the problem to another household. Cosmetic cleaning does not resolve a functional or safety concern.
Show the inside as clearly as the outside
Take a lead photograph of the complete appliance, then show the interior of each drawer, removable plates, controls and model label. Add close-ups of known marks or wear. Do not cover a damaged surface with food, a liner or an accessory for the only interior photograph. A clean exterior and an unreadable dark basket photograph leave the buyer guessing. Use enough natural light to show the condition without editing out scratches or discoloration.
Set a price for the actual condition and parts
Compare the exact model and included accessories where possible. An older model missing a drawer insert is not equivalent to a complete recent one. Allow for condition, collection travel and the difference between a private used sale and a retailer's offer. Avoid claiming that a barely used appliance is effectively new when it has visible wear or no verifiable history. The price in a competing advert is not evidence of a completed transaction, and this guide does not provide a market valuation.
An air-fryer listing template
Example only: Used single-drawer air fryer, exact model visible in the label photograph. Drawer and original cooking plate included. Recently used for an ordinary cooking cycle; timer and controls responded during that use. Light exterior scuffs and marks on the plate shown close up. No original box or optional rack. Asking EUR 30, collection in Waterford. Buyer may inspect the appliance and parts before purchase. Replace the illustrative price and every condition statement with your own verified information.
Questions buyers may ask before travelling
Why are you selling it? Is the cooking plate included? Can I see the model label and the inside of the basket? Is there any known fault or damaged coating? Prepare straightforward answers in the advert rather than making each buyer ask again. If you have not checked a function, say not checked. If you no longer have the receipt, say that too. An unsupported purchase date or warranty promise creates uncertainty instead of building trust.
Before collection, let everything cool and dry, pack the removable pieces securely and agree whether a demonstration is practical. Keep your exact address out of the public advert and arrange the handover privately. Confirm payment through your own trusted method, not a link sent by someone claiming you must pay to receive money. Once the sale is complete, close the listing so another local buyer does not travel for an unavailable appliance.
