Make outdoor space work for someone else

Sell Used Garden Furniture in Ireland

A garden set that no longer suits your space may fit another patio or balcony. Help buyers judge the size, condition and collection requirements without a long exchange of basic questions. Advertise it free on Local Ads with real photographs and an asking price for exactly what is included.

Free standard listing. Optional paid promotion. Buyers contact you directly; you agree payment and handover.

A direct selling plan

Prepare a useful advert in three steps

01

Count and measure the pieces

List each chair, table, bench or lounger. Give dimensions and explain whether items fold, stack or dismantle for collection.

02

Show outdoor wear

Photograph the material, joints, feet and any stains, corrosion, cracks or fading. Include cushion condition instead of showing only the best-looking angle.

03

Set a clear collection offer

State a price for the whole set or clearly explain separate prices. Add your locality, access limitations and what loading help, if any, you can provide.

A set photo needs an itemised description

A patio photograph can contain plants, cushions, covers, lighting and a parasol that are not all for sale. Write out the actual contents of the offer. If the parasol base is excluded or only four of six pictured chairs are included, say so prominently and make the photographs as unambiguous as possible.

Use one clear total price for a set. If you prefer to sell pieces individually, explain the price of each piece and what the main advertised price represents. Do not make a low-priced cushion appear to be the price of the complete furniture set.

Show weathering separately from structural condition

Faded fabric, surface marks and loose joints are different issues. Describe them separately so a buyer can distinguish appearance from repairs that may affect use. Do not call a material solid timber, teak or natural rattan unless you know that description is accurate.

Photograph a complete view, the tabletop or seating surfaces, the frames and each known defect. Show cushion covers and their condition if they are included. Avoid filters that hide fading or colour changes; buyers should be able to recognise the same item when they arrive.

Help buyers work out whether collection is practical

A table can fit a patio but still be difficult to transport. Give assembled dimensions and explain whether the legs detach. Note the number of chairs that stack together, if applicable, without promising that the set will fit a particular car.

Describe side access, steps and other obstacles without publishing private access codes or your full residential address. Agree who supplies transport and lifting help. If fittings are removed, keep them with the item and tell the buyer whether instructions are available.

What your advert should include

  • Number of pieces included and whether you will split the set.
  • Table dimensions and chair or bench dimensions where useful.
  • Material if known; avoid guessing from appearance alone.
  • Weathering, structural issues, repairs and cushion condition.
  • Covers, parasol, base, fittings and cushions included or excluded.
  • Whether the set folds or dismantles, plus collection access.

Common seller questions

Should I sell a garden set together or separately?

A matching set can be one advert with one total price. If you will sell pieces separately, make the individual prices and availability clear. Avoid duplicate adverts that confuse buyers about the same items.

Do I need to restore the furniture first?

You can describe its current condition honestly rather than promising restoration. Any cleaning or repair should be appropriate for the material. Do not hide damage or claim a repair you have not completed.

Can I list outside spring and summer?

You can list when the item is available. Interest can vary, and no season guarantees a sale. Keep the description and availability accurate whenever you advertise.

Can I give the furniture away instead?

Choose the free price option if no payment is required. Explain condition and collection just as carefully, and do not advertise an item as free if payment is actually expected.
